Notch steps down as Minecraft lead designer

As of yesterday, Jens Bergensten is the new lead developer on Minecraft. He will have the final say in all design decisions, so he will kinda sorta become my boss, I guess. I’ve promised him to not pull rank. ;)
Don't worry, lads. That doesn't mean Notch is leaving, he's just planning on a bit of a rest after working on minecraft for a year now. There still will be plenty of updates.

I'm not really sure if this is good news or bad news but I guess if Notch was instrumental behind the recent successes of Minecraft then his loss will be felt, even a little bit so his main contributions will be missed. I can't blame him for taking a break either. Good luck to Jens Bergensten, and great post as usual from yourself buddy.

It will be interesting to see how Minecraft changes as a result of this.

He's focusing on Mojang anyway.
